Its lobby is much nicer than the Grand Cedar, and the decor is more elegant. You can see that this is the higher end hotel in Foxwoods. The renovations bring the rooms up to date. The older rooms are still very nice, although a little dated in furnishings and decor. The hotel is quite nice, and although we did not stay in a renovated room, we did get to see one. We had stayed at Two Trees, MGM Grand, and Grand Cedar, but not the Grand Peqout. This is the first time we have been at Grand Pequot. Recently, we booked into Foxwoods for a night, and rather than stay in the MGM Grand (which is a very nice hotel) we booked the Grand Pequot Tower. I have been a little critical of Foxwoods in the past for not providing more to do besides gambling. Often this has lead us to Mohegan Sun because they have more shoppng, free music performances at the Wolf's Den (don't think there is anything comparable at Foxwoods), and just more things to spend time on besides gambling (casual bars that you can get a drink and watch the crowds, the pool and spa). It is close since we are not too far from the ferry service that brings us to New London, Ct., My wife is more of a gambler than I am, and so I am always interested in what else there is to do at the Resort. My wife and I often visit Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun as a quick getaway.
